Hello,

I have two issues with my Vista x64 Ultimate system. When I goto Windows
Update in the control panel I get a blank page that says "This page failed to
load." And when I try to goto Programs and Features, the window pops up for
a second and then closes.

Any ideas.

Thanks,

John

"This page failed to load." is a common error I seem to be having
constantly. It's not just for windows update, but for other various items
within the Control Panel. Most noteable, I see it for the Performance,
System, Update, etc. I've scoured the web and sent in assistance requests to
little results. MS won't acknowledge it other than to "do a repair
installation," which is a joke. The response is consistent to others who've
requested assistance from them.

Usually, rebooting at least once will help temporarily solve the issue, but
I have yet to find a real solution. According to others' posts, even doing a
repair doesn't necessarily fix it. At this point, running a file checker to
confirm that the original system files are in fact intact would likely be a
good idea.

I figured out what my issue was. I had installed .NET Framework 1.1 and it
messed everything up. So I searched online for a .NET cleanup tool to remove
1.1 and its back to normal.

That ended up only temporarily fixing the issue, now it is back.

I get "This Page Failed to Load" on many of the Control Panel applets with
Vista X64. Does anyone have any idea why?

Thanks
