Hello KRK
Download this free app onto a USB flash drive from a PC that is OK
Install and run. When you can get an internet connection update and ru
again

'Malwarebytes' (http://www.malwarebytes.org/

This should clean your system
Good luck and post your results

This ransom ware seems to add a proxy server to Internet Settings which stops you from been able to connect to the internet. If you remove this proxy server you will be able to connect.

Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings

Then untick "Use a proxy server"

Hope this helps.

Download, install, run, update and perform a full scan (separately) with the
following two applications (freeware versions are the ones to use for this):

SuperAntiSpyware
http://www.superantispyware.com/

MalwareBytes
http://www.malwarebytes.com/

After performing a full scan with one and then the other and removing
whatever they both find completely, you may uninstall these products,
if you wish.

Download and run the MSRT manually:

Thanks for the advice & help. ..... feedback

Yes my LAN proxy server had been set on, unchecking it got me back onto the
net

Superantispyware (full sacan) found a registry entry " Rogue Antivirus
soft" as well as 20 tracking cookies. All removed ( I assume)

Malwarebytes (full scan) found "Rogue Antivirus suite" in the registry, and
removed it (I assume)

MRST found nothing , but I only used its quick scan, (I was running out of
time). Should I run a full scan ?????

I have Norton, why did it not clean this thing out ??

Thanks again for the help

KK

I have cleaned several computers recently. I always start with Malware
bytes.

Depending on what you are infected with, the trojan may not let you
connect to the malwarebytes.org site. If that is the case use another
uninfected computer to download malwarebytes to a flash drive, then
start the infected computer into safe mode (hit F8 early and often) and
run a full malwarebytes scan there.

If Malwarebytes can get to the internet, it will update itself, but if
it is blocked it will do the best malware scan it can without updating.
In most cases it will be good enough to get started.

Then restart the computer and download Microsoft Security Essentials and
do a full malware scan with that. Then do another full malware scan
with Malware bytes.

Be carefull when trying to get to the malwarebytes.org site, there are
scam-ware sites that try to trick you into downloading scam-ware instead
of Malwarebytes.

You don't want two anti-virus programs running at the same time, so if
you already have another anti-virus program running, don't start the
anti-virus part of Microsoft Security Essentials, just use the malware
scan. But if you don't have an anti-virus program running, Microsoft
Security Essentials is a pretty good anti-virus program, and it's free.
