HELP PLEASE!!! Blue screen!

I'm trying to communicate to my car's PCM with a brand new laptop, with
no success.

I'm getting a blue screen problem, and hopefully someone can help me
out.

Are you using a car manufacturers program/utility? Is there an update for
vista? (I'm guessing here that as you say the laptop is new you might have
used the utility with an earlier OS).

Also I hope you have said laptop is fully backed up.

New laptop? They usually have a one year warranty. Contact OEM tech support.

Is the software used for connecting certified for use in Vista?

I've been on the phone with tech help, and we're thinking a couple of
things.

First off, we reconfigured the laptop from the beginning.....then went
and got windows updates (didn't do first time, I got 21 updates
uploaded)......then HP updates(didn't do first time, got 7 updates
uploaded). Then we uninstalled nortons antivirus software (from
website, the first time I just used the uninstall on my laptop, they
reassured me that I hadn't removed it completely that way), I'm updating
my BIO's tonight, and then I'm gonna download my software again and try
it.
