help please.. windows xp sp2

well i tried to install windows sp2 from the net.. it would not work.. three
times. then i ordered the cd.. after sitting waiting hours for it to
install.. it came up with this screen with a big red x saying access to
windows xp was denied...so then i waited for anout hour for everything to be
readjusted and put back the way it was.. decided to forget the update.. now i
cant download anything.. from anywhere.. it just sits there doing nothing..
and i have a cable connection.. what in the world is wrong with windowsxp sp
2... i have read sooooooooo many things that go wrong after the install...

To try to get SP2 installed, please see the "Access denied" section here:

I suggest you start out with the SubInAcl.exe tip there and see if
that solves your problem.
