I have Windows Vista Home Premium, I also have 2 cats that love walking on my
keyboard. One night they somehow added about 50+ calendars into my sidebar
and I have not found a way of removing them without my system crashing.

Is there some text file or some easy way I can just simply delete these or
flick a switch to have a fresh defaulted sidebar again?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Joe,

If you navigate to here:

C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar

you should find Settings.ini which contains details of all of the loaded
gadgets. You should be able to delete the extra calendar entries added by
your cats

Or just delete the settings.ini file completely which will return his
sidebar to the out of box defaults and then he can re-add his gadgets
however he likes.

Easier yet is just go into Control Panel, open the Sidebar Properties, then
either view list of running gadgets, and delete them, OR just click Restore
Gadgets installed with Windows.

I tried that first but the restore button was grayed out.
