Hi

Really need help with this. This was in a previous thread, but it wa
closed. Really do not want to rebuild . Last week two of my systems wer
affected by this - both 32 bit. My third the 64 bit seems unaffected fo
now. When I right click on a desktop shortcut, the run as administrato
option appears but does nothing. Quick launch items do not have thi
problem. This may have been caused by the removal of some spywar
(spyware doctor found something), but I am not sure

Different opinions often mean people know only their own parts of the
truth.

Make sure if malwares are complitly removed - scanning by used protecte
software is not credible because many viruses specialize to hide befor
protected software and I afrraid did Spyware Doctor really removed all
use this tool to ensure 'Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool

After when you'll finish scan and no help use fix for *.lnk extension

Thanks for your suggestion
Tried everything suggested including a kaspersky scan - negative
Account control is on, registry policy settings okay. Right click stil
does nothing on short cuts. You can of course set it to run a
administrator, but on some programs I don't do this automatically, an
run them as admin when I need to ( a setting is changing). Also canno
change the advanced user profile properties and change enviromen
variables. All this works fine on the 64 bit
Any help would be appreciated, however it looks like I am going to hav
some expensive rebuilds
