Have a Cingular 8125 that's been wiped clean for a new user.
Server is SBS 2K3 SP1 with Exchange 2K3 SP2.
Other Mobile PC devices synch with Exchange.
Server certificate is self-signed.

ActiveSync 4.5 says:
"The security certificate on the server is invalid. Contact your
Exchange Server administrator or ISP to install a vaild certificate on
the server.
Support Code:80072f0d

KB915152 says
"ActiveSync does not recognize the Certification Authority that
generated the certificate of the server. If you synchronize on a
schedule, synchronization has been changed from scheduled to manual."

However, this error prevents device from synchronizing with exchange
server at all.

What's invalid about a self-signed SBS 2K3 certificate authority?

How can we cure this short of generating a new self-signed certificate
and installing it on all our mobile devices all over again?

HELP!

I am having the exact same problem with the same device. Can you share how
you were able to overcome the issue?

Thanks,
