HELP-Service Pack KB886903

I have been trying to install this service pack for months. I'm not sure
what the pack is needed for, but I'm sure it needs to install. I have Norton
Security and still don't understand all of it. Many times when I start-up,
the Norton doesn't load, and I have to keep restarting until it gets in the
mood to load. I don't know if maybe it's causing the problem with updates or
what the problem is. My main concern is the service pack. I have printed
the solution from Oscar (2-15-05), but I'm wanting to be sure this is what I
need to try. I'm not very computer savy, and I don't want to mees things up.
Please any help would be greatly appreciated. I need exact details to solve
this. THNAKS!!!!!

I *strongly* suspect that something is amiss with the system.
Either malware is resident or Norton itself has damaged the Operating
System. Norton failing to load is NOT a good sign.

Is the Norton subscription still current and for how long ?
