Hi Kwittusen,
WUPD could have put new device driver [one possibility]. Do not load all
drivers except the perfectly known versions in the safe mode. By that way
you can single out the problem.
If you had downloaded the service pack over the internet and your antivirus
not being upto date... you could have got a worm. In that case make sure
none of your programs which are in the startup use WWW service, Exchange
services, WebDAV, HTTP, IMAPI etc. Or better stop irrelevant startup
applications. Then get antivirus updates from another computer, run a
cleanup, update your antivirus online, disable autorestore point, do windows
update.
