Help with setting up HP Printer - PLEASE!

I have a HP 2100 Laser printer (mfg date 1999) that I am trying to connect
to my new Vista PC. I purchased an ATEN USB to Parallel printer cable
(which claims to support Vista but I haven't seen any evidence of that).

The computer does not recognize the HP printer AT ALL. It is attached to a
virtual USB Port (not LPT1). I have been to the HP website and elsewhere to
no avail.

Any - and I mean ANY advice as to how to make this printer work?

Have you downloaded the Vista driver from
