Help, small problem with Vista, pic attached.

Every time I boot up my computer I get this box that pops up. It says
click here to see the message and I click it and then I press okay on
the message and then return back to Windows and my desktop. Every time,
very annoying...please help! :sarc:

Rename C:\Windows\SMINST ->C:\Windows\SMINST.OLD and should be fin
without any consequences

Folders can have extesions either but difference to files folders
extensions are without any meaning.

Hi,

It's a problem with your Brother printer software. It's either corrupt or
incompatible with Vista. Contact them for assistance with this error in
their software:

No, it won't. Then the error message will simply change to one that reads
along the lines of C:\Windows\sminst\blservice.exe not found. The file isn't
sminst, it's blservice.exe, a support file for a Brother printer unit.

It is highly unlikely there is a problem your printer software. Do you have
an HP laptop? If so, see the link below. Apparently there is an HP patch,
although the description on the HP website sounds a bit screwy. May want to
just disable Recovery Service for Windows as discussed on the link:

Yes I have an HP latop. And no I do not have Brother Printer.
