Help switching from 64bit to 32 bit

I recently purchased a new laptop and it came pre-installed with Vista 64bit.
However I'd prefer to run 32bit, how do I change? I do have the recovery
DVD for Vista 32bit. Thanks for anyhelp.

P.S. Step by step instructions would be best.

Hi,

Instructions should be included with your disks and are dependent on the
system manufacturer as they generally vary greatly from a retail install.
You can't simply convert or downgrade, the switch will require a clean
installation of the 32 bit version, meaning all data and programs on the
system will be gone. Data should be backed up to removable media, programs
will need to be reinstalled from their original installation media. Your
system manufacturer may provide a program recovery disk in addition to to
system recovery disks.

Recovery CD/DVDs are not standard Windows items, and are created by
the system manufacturer. How to use them varies with the manufacturer.
You will need to consult your documentation, manufacturer's web site,
or call them, to find out exactly how to proceed.

In the past you just put the disk in and it asks if you are sure you
want to wipe out the whole pc, the only option if you want to use the
restore disks, and then formats the disk and restores the computer
back to store bought condition.

Yes, that's generally true. But I'm reluctant to advise anyone to do
that without his reading the instructions first. There is nothing
standard about a recovery disk, and there's no guarantee that all
manufacturers do them the same way.
