I bought my computer with Windows XP HOme edition that just has wordperfect
on it. I needed powerpoint and word, so I bought an upgrade from the same
company. They knew what I had just bought, and sent me microsoft office
small business edition 2003. it says i only need windows xp to install it.
but when i try, it tells me that it can't find a version on my computer, and
selecting a drive doesn't work. it causes the installation to stop. i tried
installing windows xp again but i don't know what i'm doing there and don't
want to mess it up.

Unless you have an older version of Microsoft Office installed,
or an older Microsoft Office CD, you'll need a "Full Version",
and not an "Upgrade Version" of Microsoft Office. Contact
your computer manufacturer and obtain a "Full Version" of
Microsoft Office.

The upgrade you bought needs a previous version of Microsoft Office to
Upgrade and since you never had Microsoft office on your computer you cannot
upgrade. You cannot upgrade Wordperfect to Microsoft Office.
You need to buy the full version.
