HELP - Want OLD View & Preferences Back

Hubby "helped" fix my laptop to handle network issues, and closed lots of TSR
stuff on my bottom taskbar. That included my perfectly configured "old style
view" quick link to Hotmail. Now I have a huge screen that is hard to read,
and my messages open automatically - that is something I wish to avoid at all
costs.

How do I get my old view back? There is no preferences button to choose,
other taskbar buttons are unnecessary, but taking up space.

How do I get rid of the right side window, and STOP the messages I highlight
from opening immediately in that window?

How do I change the login so that it only displays my address, and requires
me to input my password manually to log in?

How do I fill out the Profile, when the Profile button is not visible on my
screen?

Sorry, but if I could figure out what these topics are called in the Help
menu, I'd look them up and do this myself.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by old view but you can change the views
in WLM by clicking on the icon in the top right that looks like a cursor
pointing to a drop down menu then selecting Layout.
To fill out your profile, simply click on the profile in the top right and
select View your profile. This is the same profile that is used for your
Messenger if you use Messenger with that account.
The login functionality doesn't really help any at all I'm afraid because
when the login box is displayed, simply clicking cancel still takes you into
WLM and your mailbox, the only thing that won't happen is that your mail
won't sync, so please don't try to use Login as a security measure.

In which program? Hotmail via IE or WLMail?
Use Help, About if you aren't sure. (Press Alt-H,A)
Also, please transcribe the Version, including Build number
you are using from that display.

Taskbar buttons? Toolbar buttons perhaps?
In WLMail: press Alt-M, Customize Toolbar...

The Reading pane? In WLMail, press Alt-V,L,w
In Hotmail, Options, Reading pane settings: Off

Are you implying that you think you are already logged in?
FWIW I see an arrow for a dropdown list beside my name.
When I use the Profile menu item in there it opens up an IE
window where I can use its Sign Out link. Who knew?
But that doesn't seem to affect WLMail, so it looks like the
only way to log out of WLMail is to use its Stop Signing In
button (in Options, Connection tab).

This in particular is the part of your symptom description
which made me wonder if you were logged into Hotmail
via IE. FWIW in there [Profile] is a link at the top of the window
second from the left. Otherwise I have already given you a way
to get into the Hotmail Profile via WLMail.

Please clarify what you are looking at if you need more help.
Remember, your words have to substitute for what our eyes
might notice.

Hi, La_Bunny.

TSR? Terminate but Stay Resident? We haven't heard that acronym very much
since DesqView and such managers of Expanded Memory more than a decade ago!
Is THAT what you are asking about?
