Every time I reboot or shut down and start up later my weatherbug gets
wiped out and I have to re-install. Any suggestions?

Since Weatherbug is generally considered spyware, it is probably being taken
out by your security software. This is just a guess of course since you've
told us nothing about your computer and/or security software. When
troubleshooting, it's also good to know what changed between the the time
things worked and the time they didn't.

Personally, I'd just look into using something else for weather. The
Forecast Fox extension for Firefox is very good.

Leave Weatherbug off the computer. Why do you want spyware?

Is WeatherBug spyware?

WeatherBug does not monitor, collect data or 'spy' on its user base. If a software program
is implying or reporting that WeatherBug is 'spyware', it is completely incorrect. WeatherBug
is incapable of tracking your overall web use or deciphering anything on your hard drive.
WeatherBug has no functionality to determine what you were doing/where you were surfing
before you opened your WeatherBug program - nor where you go after using the WeatherBug.

Nor is WeatherBug Adware- we are scrupulously careful about the inalienable rights of our
consumer and business users, and adhere to the strictest standards that currently exist relating
to informed consent and clear notice.

and then right-click on the file and select "Run as administrator".

Marketing drivel snipped....

Weatherbug started out as pure Adware and Spyware in the 90's, and I've
seen it bring networks to their knees with the bandwidth it wasted. I'm
certainly not going to trust it now, or ever. Nor will I ever advise
any one else to do so.

Save your "breath." I'm not going to be convinced of anything by
Weatherbug's self-serving marketing crap, especially when I've
first-hand experience of exactly how insidious an application it can be.

I haven't used Weatherbug in YEARS: I hated all the advertising.

I much prefer Weather Pulse. No advertising, temperature icon in
tray, balloon weather when mouse hovers over temp icon, great window
for full conditions/forecast/weather image.

And it's free.

No...No...No.
Don't encourage people to use "weather gadgets" on a PC.

Pull open the curtains, part the drapes, pull up the blinds...and stick your friggin head out the window.

If its cold, your nose will turn red.
If its hot, you'll sweat.
If its raining, your head will get wet.

Weather gadget !

Why not install a gadget that says "If you can see this, you are sitting at the PC"

I've used WeatherBug for years and even Live one Care reports it is not
spyware or adware. Before I uninstalled Norton (that came with the computer)
it never reported a problem either. I use the Pro version so I get no ads.
