HELP:!! Windows Server 2000 5.00 w/SP4 not allowing auto Update

Hello,

I am running Windows Server 2000 V 5.00.2195 SP4 and IE V 6.0.2800.1106.

When I try to initiate automatic updates through IE's "Windows Update"
function it fails, telling me that "User Data Persistance must be set to
enable". The problem is that it IS set to "Enable"
The result is that I can not load any of the Microsoft updates. I need to
load these critical patches.... HELP!

Any ideas?
