Help. Windows Update

Vista will not update. I continue to get message KB938371 and KB943899. I
have followed instructions several times to corrrect but no luck????It
initally will say updates install, but when you try to confirm it says
failed...HELP!!

I am having a similar problem with Window xp and a recent update to Windows
live photo gallery over and over it says to update goes through the motions
and then says not updated... KB946486... Shish!
