this is a normal function of vista... why are you worried?

Vista was built to be unstable strange and unreliable...
Its no accident.. MS put 5 years into making such a POS OS.

they just didn't tell you that on the BOX.

seriously, if you want to work get XP

cheen,

Why do you waste your time here? Do you really think your incessant
bitching about Vista will change anything? Is your life that pathetic
that constantly bitching about an OS provides some comfort for you?

Please, explain to us why you feel the need to have a temper tantrum
about Vista in public at every opportunity, and to people who have
mostly tuned you out. Isn't there a Vista Sucks web page somewhere for
you to throw your fits?

How old are you anyway?

koch people that have no compter skills such as cheen, will never get
Vista to work as it can. They are frustrated that they cant grasp the
concept and lash out in dispair.

stillarfish I am willing to bet you probably did some kind of system
restore to fix the problem you had around the holidays. If you used a
factory prepared resore disk set you probably put an application back
that is unstable in itself and causeing your problem.

You have a product key already, get a microsoft version of Vista like I
use, and install it. You will find the stability your looking for and
the performance you expected.

The same goes for you cheen. Learn how, before trying to teach.

Why pay someone in Redmond to do the testing
when they can drop it on US and get it done on a
massively larger scale for FREE?

stillarfish,

I've looked over your past posts to try and figure out what your "just
like during the holidays again" comment could possibly mean - is it the
cursor/mouse issue again? You need to give us much more detail about
your current symptoms before anyone can attempt to lend a hand.

Give us some details...

Peace Frank...

the world is a better place with vista long forgotten. Lets go ahead and
leave this mistake behind us ok?

Are you going to upgrade to windows7 when it comes out?

Oh I wanted to ask you one more thing.. you said in another post that you
had tried various versions of linux and had experience with it..

have you tried the latest Ubuntu?, (a nice way to get codecs running is ti
use automatix).

Im not a linux zealot... but I was positivly impressed by the latest ubuntu

most likely somthing you have installed causing the problem.
use MSCONFIG and stop all NONE microsoft programs from running at startup and see what happens.
'if it works, then start back adding HALF of the others at a time till you figure out which program is causing the problem.
