Go to a PC that HAS NOT received this HPLJ6 driver update through WU and copy
the c:\windows\system32\spool folder to a network directory or burn it to CD;
then take the CD (or retrieve the spool folder you copied to the network
location) and replace the c:\windows\system32\spool folder on the PC having
the problems. Since this WU did not have an un-install, this is essentially
equivalent to rolling back the driver, HOWEVER if you have multiple drivers
installed between the two computers, this may cause undesired results at
which point you will need to figure out what subfolder of
c:\windows\system32\spool is the specific drivers for the HPLJ6.
Good luck, I know this worked for me and I didn’t receive any feedback from
MS or newsgroups.
