Hibernate does not appear in the Shut Down menu. (Start>Shut Down Menu>
....) Options that do appear are Switch User, Log Off, Lock, Restart,
Sleep and Shut Down. Is there a setting I've messed up?

Thanks for any help,

Owkmann

Type in a command prompt

powercfg -h

You may have used Disk Cleanup to clean (delete) the hibernation file.

Try

Control Panel -> Power -> Change Plan Settings (for active plan) ->
Change Advanced Power Settings -> Sleep -> Allow Hybrid Sleep -> Setting
(Toggle to "On")
