I'm running Windows Vista Basic on a laptop.

My problem is that when I put Vista in sleep or hibernation mode it will
wake without any prompting. I'm thinking that it might be related to the
screen pressing against a button while it's down because it once 'woke' when
I touched the top of the screen while picking it up, although it could be
something else.

Is there any way I can make Vista ONLY wake by pressing the power button and
disable any other key press from waking it?

Hey

It's likely to be a USB device attached to the laptop that wakes it up. Try
using it for a while without any USB things like mouse, keyboard or scanner
and see if it continues.

Hi Aston

See if this can help you find what is waking up your laptop. You coul
disable the wake up option for the keyboard in it's "Power Management
tab in Device Manger to test your theory
