HID non user data filter update defective??

When I downloaded it it came with ten other updates. After two weeks of
problems andeven an upgrade in NORTON to make it work again I then found the
USB HUBS don't work. Devices work fine but no ext 4 port hub will even get
noticed when plugged into this PC they work in other one.
WinFlash,inf,chipset update,clearing device manager, nothing works. ??? how
do I remove only one of the updates a rollback will only return the last ten
other problems I just spend 100plus hours fixing. could have completed a
full course in LINUX by now Help Please.

OK found I can see updates in add remove program checked update histroy and
it has no KB number but it is installed with green check mark on the 2/15
when problem started andon 3/5?? nether date shows up in add remove list.
Is it really installed. Can it be removed? I can see why it must surly be
related to the HUB problem, but don't know what to do.

Hi there ,

Remove the update and see if that solves your problem, if not use system
restore in safe mode and go back to a date before the problem occured.

If that did not help either than repair windows xp by running setup booted
from cd and just go forward untill you see F8 to agree and than choose
repair ( not the first repair option you get to see!)

All your programs will keep working, all your settings will stay the same,
email and docs are safe too, just the windows updates will be gone

I can't find HID updates in add/remove, but they are showen installed on
update history. So I restored to day before updates. HUBs started working
again,but as I knew subthing else would have to be messed up resatore has
never worked for me in98, 98se, or now XP. NORTON which worked on that date
was gone and I could not get online. The HUBS working and devices
install,they just don't work anymore. So I roll back to start and nowtheHUBS
are down again and so is NORTON and the devices no,longer work derectlyin PC.
(Chest pain starts here) oh well why not roll again to yesterday it is a
mess anyway. Well that worked the HUBS don't work but the devices are back
and I can get online. NORTON is now reloading 16meg of updates over my
hilltop GPRS 28k connection. (takes hours) I beleave HID update is defective
I have done my 100plus hours of beta testing for MS If they ever answer an
e-mail maybe they will patch this mess. I am not touchiing anything anymore.
I will live without HUBS until the patch I just proved necssary comes. Will
contect Compaq and tell them why they could not fix this problem and ask that
they contect MS as well. And I will update the C/net forums they have been

You are most welcome

Better never take any driver updates anymore from windows update, if REALLY
needed it is best to take them from the manufacturers website this saves a
lot of headache.
