Hidden directory on one drive

I have my old Download directory on a disk that is now E: It does not
appear in my Explorer for E: All other folders appear on E: I know it's
there because I had to rebuild my old system when my new BIOS went out, and
there it was! Now back with Vista, no Download directory (folder) there.
In my current setup, I have all checks for "hidden" removed. For example, I
can go into the Windows directory just fine.

Now for the strange part: I also have another drive which is now F:
"Download" does appear there. I also have a USB drive for backup; it also
has a visible Download directory.

Any ideas?

John

Could the downloads be related to another user? I have logged on as
myself and found problems accessing folders created by the
Administrator (who happens to be me me as well). The attributes of
the folder can sometimes be changed to allow sharing (which solved an
iTunes problem) or sometimes all the steps have to be carried out as
the same User (which solved a Chapura problem).

On the other hand, your situation might have nothing to do with user
accounts....

No, the old system was Win/ME. I'm "it" on the new system. Note that I can
"see" the Download directory on two other visible drives.
