How to hide the File/Contacts/Actions... toolbar on WLMessenger? I once
pressed the "show all menus" button, and I can't find how this process is
reversible.
The Help says that Alt button turns the bar on and off, but when I press Alt
the bar gets selected but won't dissapear.

Is it possible to hide these menus again?

Yes! Uncheck "Show the menu bar". Click the Down Arrow, which is all the
way on the right side, just above the main window. Uncheck it, by clicking
on "Show the menu bar" again.

If I understood what you've said, that arrow (is it
http://help.live.com/resources/targe...t/ShowMenu.jpg
?) just has a menu bar with the drop-down showing
File/Contacts/Actions/Tools/Help, no more options...
My version is 8.5.1302.1018

The help article I am referring to is "Activate the menu bar" from
WLMessenger help, particularly to the Tip, which doesn't work for me.

P.S.: I found out that Alt+M does what I want in WLMail but not in
WLMessenger... I'm starting to find this a little strange...

Yes, that's the arrow. If that is all the choices you have, then the
installation is corrupt. We have the same version. Uninstall Windows Live
Messenger, and everything associated with Messenger. Reboot.

Clean out your \Temp folders. and also \Windows\Temp. Run Disk Cleanup.
Run your Windows Registry Cleaner.

A good one, is TuneUp Utilities 2008 at
http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/ (30-day Free Trial.)

Reboot and reinstall Windows Live Messenger.

What can cause an installation to be corrupted? If we have the same version
and you have that option, I have installed this version on two computers and
none of them has it, what can have gone wrong?

BTW, it doesn't bother me enough to make a full reinstall. I'll just wait
for an update, or maybe reinstall it when I have some more time. In
addition, I am going to ask some of my contacts their version and if they do
have the option or don't.

Thanks for your help.
