I've got a client that has some software that's incompatible with a Windows
update.
Right now, I've had to run around to each machine, run Windows update, and
hide the specific update so it doesn't get installed automatically. (This
was after uninstalling the update on each machine.)
It would be a lot quicker if it was possible to hide this update with a
registry edit, or something like that. That would save running Windows
update on every machine.
At some point the vendor is going to patch their software, at which point
I'll have to run Windows update on every machine again, and select the update
to show it.
Is there a quicker way? I'd like to use a registry file or similar to
enable this update when the vendor patch comes out, and I'd also like to know
a way to do this quicker in future, as I deal with some very custom software
that's frequently only validated to one specific version of MDAC, and stuff
like that.
Anybody got any ideas?
