I found that Mcafee has been having problems with all of there software
uninstalling (spyware) and they have a tool to download that will clean your
system. It made a huge difference in my cpu usage. This would include anyone
that has updated from one version of McAfee to another because it doesnt
totally uninstall the original.

Make sure that if you have a boot partion the it was formatted in the same
format as the system Partion. Fat32.. or NTFS

Here also a suggestion Gett your self a Router with a hardware firewall. $50
and you are stopping 99.9% out side your computer.
