Hi,

I am writing a research paper for www.picmet.org about technology transition
and migration.

I need historical prices starting from Win 95 till date of microsoft
products while launch and in between the selling period if it is discounted
later on.

If I cannot get the answer here let me know whom to contact in microsoft.

Nisarg

$200 covers it all for the full retail version.
Typically Microsoft does not discount the OS in between versions.
This includes Windows 95, 98, 98SE, ME and XP Home.

No price change in about 10 years.

Contact retailers directly for their individual price history.

Hi Nisarg

This is a good website that reports pices of Windows to OEMs, as estimated based on Microsoft SEC filings. Its an intricate, but interesting system.

(irritatingly enough, the site is preventing me form posting the link, but you can send me an email and I will forward it to you directly)

Did you amange to get any more info about Windows prices, sales numbers etc? I'm writing a thesis on competition issues of Security Essentials, and I could really use some raw data for the econometric part of my work.

Regards,
Mattia
