I see generic PnP monitor. Which prevents world of warcraft from using
anything higher than 85hz.

The cm823f.inf file which is the driver for this monitor will not install.

When I try to install the device I get "The INF file you selected does
not support this method of installation"

If there is no working hitachi 823F drivers, then I need to know how I
can hack the registery to make 100hz work instead of just 85hz.

Thing is on the desktop I can set 100hz no problem. But I guess directX
cant see anything greater than 85hz cause its not using a driver for the
monitor.

The INF file is just a text file, is there something I can edit to make
it work with vista?

I finally fixed it. Seems there is a small difference in a 64bit inf
file and a 32bit. So in the cm823f.inf there was two lines I had to
change. And presto the driver installed. Rebooted and now I have access
to all the display modes in world of warcraft. Only took 6 hours to
find out how to do this.

I figured it out after an hour or two of messing around. Since Galvi
was never actually accurate enough on any of the forums he posted on t
explain how he fixed his problem, then I figured I should help out th
next people trying to use the legacy monitors

Create a .txt file, name it cm823f.txt. Copy the following into th
text file

> Disk1="Hitachi Monitor INF Disk"Rename file to "cm823f.inf", go to Control Panel -> Device Manager -

Monitors -> Non-pnp Monitor. Right click, "Update Driver Software"
"Browse My Computer...", "Let me pick...", press on "Have Disk", locat
your cm823f.inf file and you're pretty much done. Ignore digital signin
warnings

For those that don't use the CM823F monitor

you have to add the bald lines
