HOem page stuck at about:blank

Win XP Home SP3
IE8

Just updated from IE6 to IE8. When I lauch IE8 I get home paeg of
about:blank. When I go to internet options and set homepage to www.yahoo.com
and apply; the home page comes up as about:blank. Same from the tool bar to
replace home page.

Any ideas on why the replacement home page did not take?

Hi John,

Do you have Spybot S&D installed. It has an option to block changes to the
homepage.

Do you have any of the Yahoo toolbars' anti-spyware features turned on?

Whatever, updating from 6 to 8 you should check with toolbar.yahoo.com for
the latest version of their toolbar.

Definitely update, if you were using the yahoo toolbar with tabbed browsing
with IE6.

Also check at toolbar.google.com if you are using the google toolbar. I
don't know of any issues with the Comcast toolbar and IE8 if you have it
installed, but you may also check with them.

It was a toolbar issue. Teh IE6 was corrupted and when I went to IE8,
Comcast was in the old browser but nit the new IE8. I downloaded comcast
toolbar and now about:blank is gone and in its place is comcast.
