Holiday music

I have ripped several Christmas CD's to my laptop, but have no idea how to
segregate the music from my year-round library. Is there a way to separate
it so that in July, when I hit shuffle I won't hear Winter Wonderland or
Silver Bells?

It depends on how you are playing your music. If you are just playing
tracks at random from "Songs" then you will indeed get "Fairytale of New
York" when you least expect it!

I use an Auto Playlist to control what I hear. I mark all of my
Christmas music with Subgenre=Christmas then at Christmas time I add the
selection Subgenre=Christmas to the playlist criteria. On 12th night,
I'll remove that addition.

You can store them in a different folder, not being part of your current
monitored folders
In 'Add to library' you add this folder
The moment you remove the reference to this folder, they will disappear from
the library
