I'm running Home Premium SP1 on a Core2 Quad machine. I have a fe
external USB drives which I have set up network file shares for.
frequently find that Vista removes these file shares for no apparen
reason, and I need to re-instate them. Is this a known problem

I have the same problem, but I don't think it's a Vista problem, as it
happened when the same external drive was installed on a different computer
running XP SP3. Then and now on Vista I have to check it before each backup,
and probably three times out of four have to reestablish the sharing
parameters. A little annoying, but no big deal.

My situation seems to be different - I've been using the same enclosur
and drives with an XP SP2 machine for 18 months without any problems
It's only a problem with Vista
