Hello,
I am purchasing a Dell computer with Vista Home Premium on it. I have my
own boxed retail version of Ultimate that I want to put on my new machine.
My Ultimate version is the upgrade version though. Can this be done and if
so, how?

Hi,

Yes, it certainly can be done. Simply boot into the preinstalled OS, then
insert your upgrade disk and follow the prompts to upgrade.

You sure can upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Ultimate using the Ultimate
Full Retail versiom. Just make sure you choose the upgrade option during
setup, the upgrade process will preserve your personal files, settings and
applications.

Thank you for the quick response Rick.
I forgot to also ask since the boxed Ultimate upgrade version I have is on
my old PC that I plan to format and give away, is it going to be a problem
in that that product key has already been registered with Microsoft from my
old PC?

Thank you Andre but I don't have the *Full* retail version, just the upgrade
version.

Yes, you will have purchase an additional license or uninstall it from the
computer you have it on that you are going to give away.

OK, that's what I plan on doing. Uninstalling from the old PC to the new
PC.
Thank you!
