"Host services stopped working."

Like tons of other people, I've been getting lots of those "Host services
have stopped working. You will be notified if a solution is found" messages.
You are forced to close the box....no other option is available.

The result of this is that my internet connection slows to a crawl.

At the suggestion of somebody else in another topic, they suggested that I
post the actual error log in the forum of the program that crashed.
Apparently the problem is with "Windows Management Instrumentation"....and I
have no idea where a forum for that resides.

So I'm hoping a solution can be found here. Here is the log that gets
generated. Any ideas on how to fix? There are DOZENS of logs like this that
have been generated.

You probably have an Ethernet card that needs a better driver. To test this,
change the Speed setting in the NIC Properties to 10 mbps half duplex, to
see if that speeds up the connection. If not, and it is the WMI, you can try
to clear that with:

Delete the files in the REPOSITORY folders (..\system32\wbem)
(you will have to turn off the winmanagement service to do that)
'net stop winmgmt'

But could you please explain the "WMI" step in a little more detail? I'm
not as computer-savy as others on this board.

How do I turn off Winmanagement, do I then just delete manually, etc.

Yes, delete the files normally. You would get an 'in use' error until you go
to start/run, and type:
net stop winmgmt

to stop the service. After the delete, you could restart windows, or type:
net start winmgmt

OK.

Do I only delete the files in that one folder (\system32\wbem)? Or are
there others as well?
