Hotmail has been hacked!

I have an account: which has been compromised -- just
two days ago a request came through my e-mail message saying that if I didn't
update my account, that my hotmail account would be deleted. I made the
stupid mistake by doing so, and now the account has been hacked by a fraud
spamer who is using it to steal money from my contact list.

Although, my alternative e-mail address has been changed and I can no longer
log in to the account, is there a way to either close the account for good,
or is there anyone on here who knows how to retrieve the account back?

Please advise - you can contact me also at:

Thanks!

Greetings,

You'll need to contact Windows Live ID services for this:
https://support.live.com/default.aspx?productkey=wlid
After clicking the link, choose any option from the FAQ on the left, then choose 'Get more
help' at the bottom right, and then 'Get more support'.

Hello Jonathan Kay-

I'd already done this... just hope they can resolve the issue and restore my
account?

Hopefully?!

Any ideas?

Hi,

There is a support group specifically for Hotmail, but it's manned by the same people you
send the form submissions to and they are the ones with direct access to accounts, I do not
(nor would a typical Microsoft employee).

This isn't an atypical situation, so they're used to dealing with this issue. How they will
resolve it in your particular situation I'm not sure as it depends on what data they have in
their logs.

Hi,

You may want to reply to them and try again. Although things may have changed, in a lot of
cases most people have to reply several times to get what they want sorted out.
