HP Laserjet 1020

Vista picked up the hardware on boot
But would could not install
I downloaded the XP drivers from HP
Ran install and gave errors that it could not install the hardware
I tried to mannualy configure the printer from the printers folder and no
success
I used the Add hardware wizard and picked the device using have disk
This time it gave me the list of printers the drivers package could be used
for
I picked my priner the 1020u
It then went though the set up and gave a error the print spooler was not
running
I checked and it was, so stopped and restarted mannualy
Checked printers folder and none was present still
But checked and found that if I right clicked and checked server properties
the device was listed
Was about to give up but on backing out of the printers folder notice the
printer
Ran tests and printer worked.
Rebooted and got notification Vista was installing hardware software
Then succesfull hardware install pop up
