HP LaserJet 4200 Update Fails

On my laptop Windows Update always wants to install the HP LaserJet 4200
Update, and it fails. I don't even want the HP 4200 drivers on my Laptop
and do not see a driver for it, though that does not mean I was never
connected to a network that had one. Anyway to strip my laptop of these
drivers so update does not try to install a update and fail.

Such updates are offered as optional (if available through WU) so you don't
have to select them to install. BTW you don't select driver updates from WU
anyway, you go to the manufacturer's site for updates that you require if
needed.

Look in the softwaredistribution\download folder for the update that is
trying to install and remove it.

Also check in "printers & faxes" and delete any printers you don't want.

Windows version?

Is the driver updated being offered by Windows Update website or Automatic
Updates?

1. Is appearing with Windows Update

2. It is not listed as a printer in Printers and Faxes

3. I have lots of stuff in softwaredistribution\download folder, can
anything in here be deleted? One directory called INSTALL, and then 3
directories with long scrambled char and numbers as a directory name.
