So far, no good. I have gone into my registry and tried to find an HKEY
Local Machine entry to make a modification, but did not have any luck
finding the right key......grrrr!
May if you two and others with this problem go to this link: and start a
troubleshooting ticket with Microsoft----they may get off their butts and
create a fix for this. I have pasted the recommendations they gave me and
told them I believe this is a Microsoft problem and to quit palming it off
to HP. All of our Keyboards worked fine until SP2....that's MS's fault, no
our Keyboard manufacture's. Use Miranda's email as a reference, in fact,
maybe even contact her to so they same person gets an email on the same
subject from many people.
Finding and using the Windows Update support link is difficult. It's tucked
away in several pages after clicking on help and support at Windows Update.
It's obscure now!

Hi Miranda,
I uninstalled the KBD driver, then installed the one you directed me to,
still no buttons.
My computer has worked fine with this keyboard with my Compaq Presario for
two years. It came from a friend who owned a 500 series HP Pavilion.
Now that I have decided to install SP2, which I think is a nice product, the
buttons are gone.
My keyboard is an HP Pavilion Internet Multimedia Keyboard P/N 5187-0341
Serial# SC0227012434
Thanks,
Lee

Have either of you been able to solve this as of yet? I have tried two
online chats with HP support and both answers they gave me did not
work.
