As part of a Windows 2003 server, XP desktop and 2003 terminal services
rollout I have encountered a number of problems with HP printers on a 2003
print server.
Most laserjet printers using the drivers that came on the HP driver disks
have caused problems which will not let users add a printer when running
these drivers.
On contacting HP's support, I was informed that this was a known problem
with using the drivers on 2003 server and that the solution was to use the
nearest driver version from Windows 2003 server. i.e for a laserjet 2300, I
am having to install the Microsoft laserjet 2200 drivers, the same applies to
other printers as well.
Has anyone else experienced these problems and found other solutions which
allow you to use the latest HP drivers?
