I just bought a HP D7160 printer. I had a few problems with the Windows Vista programs that came with the printer. HP Tech Support told me to run the Vista CD which will uninstall the programs and reinstall them. Although it runs to completion and says the programs have been uninstalled, everything is still there. The desktop icons have not been deleted, nor have the entries in the Start menu and the folders in Program Files. It will not allow me to do an install until everything has been uninstalled. I have tried running the uninstall as Administrator, and even in Safe Mode. I just can't get rid of it. After many emails with HP Tech Support, HP advised me contact Microsoft because they are unable to give me further assistance.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can uninstall these programs? I have deleted everything I could manually, but the program disc will not allow me to reinstall them because it says everything has to be uninstalled first.
I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
