i had this problem with the recovery disks. i did a recovery with m
disks i made from the recovery manager i tried the recovery partion an
that failed so i ordered a new set from best2serve the disks came so
installed the software it worked fine but then 5 months later i had t
do another recovery but this time the new recovery disks failed righ
near the end of 4 hrs saying recovery failed please install disks on
again i tried again and it did the same thing so i tried to install th
secound recovery disks i made from the new disks then on the install i
said this pc is not supported by the recovery disks odd even though
made on this laptop it also said OX74BPO5EF referenced memory a
OX00000114
anyway i tried many times with both install disks but no way would the
work even though i kept my disks in a safe no marks on the disks so
installed windows 7 beta it worked fine and windows vista 64bit worke
ok except most of the quick launch buttons wont work
well i rang the support team and they were very helpfull with m
problem i did a full killdisk and formatted the hardrive took a fe
hours it cleaned the hardisk but it didnt work stll no joy in doing
recovery
so hp support have ordered me another set of disks but the only thing
can think of is the first set of recovery disks worked ok but i did
bios update three months after the recovery and i was thinking could i
have been the bios update changed the tag number on the motherboard s
the recovery disks the would presume it was another laptop but then ho
come the recovery disks i got from hp failed as well unless there was
fault with the disks in the first place oh well so now u i am waitin
for the new disks to arrive we will see what happens then i have had th
laptop 11 months now its the hdx9250ea from hp very odd indeed seems t
be a lot of people having problems with hp recovery disks the disk
arrived and quess wat happend it failed again even with the new disks s
i rang hp support again so now there picking up my laptop to sort it ou
well i hope they do the say it might be the cpu or the motherboard i
thats right why does vista retail work except the quick launch button
wont work anyway we will see wat happends wen it comes bk this time i
all goes well i will do an image of the hardrive instead not going t
trust there disks again lol
does anyone else have this problem ? thanks
