When I start HP Total Care advisor an update starts instantly. However, Error 1720 occurs followed by

"There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

I would appreciate if someone could help me with the solution.

I have an HP laptop and HP Total Care is unnecessary as far as I'm
concerned. I just disabled the services that startup. It's a huge
memory hog. I like you, had errors trying to install updates. It would
start downloading the update and then crash. I do occasionally go to
HP's website to see if there are any updates and download them manually.
My life is better without it.

How about checking with HP? That's what my wife does with her HP Total Care
when something doesn't look right with it.
