All OEM machines that come with an operating system preinstalled - HP,
Dell, Sony, etc. - are already activated when you get them. The OEM has
handled this for you.
I have set up numerous HP machines with Vista for clients and I've never
seen a popup requesting Vista activation. Registration for HP products
(including the computer), yes. Even though you purchased the machine
from a shop, you should call HP for tech support and find out what this
really is.
