Hay, i was wondering if someone could help me out with this problem because i
can't find where it's coming from.

Basically i have all these temp files in the temp folder and they keep
appearing and multiplying. The first time i found them the folder was near
8gb and i deleted all of them no problem. Now they are back again and it's
getting close to 4gb but i can't delete them this time.

I couldn't find anything on google. The only two things that came up was
something to do with some Offline Explorer Pro program and the other one was
that some guys hard drive was failing. One of my drive did recently fail on
me but it's not in the computer anymore.

Here is a pic of how the files look.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well they will return. Like i said it was 8gb total last time but now i can't
delete them. I'd have to go into safe mode because they seem like they are
being used but i can't figure out by what.

Copy one of the files into another location. See if you can then
delete it. Sounds like the *.tmp files are open and being used by some
program. Just suggesting...

You are probably downloading video files (movies) . They create HTT.TMP files. Just
delete them

Open a few with a text file, such as Notepad - you may see a clue as to
their origin.

Use System Internals/Microsoft's Process Explorer utility to see what
program is creating them and holding them open:

Well i tried to copy them to the desktop or to open them with notepad but it
didn't let me just like i didn't let me delete them. Once i restarted all the
files dissapeared.

I also tried that Process explorer program but i couldn't find any program
that i didn't already know about.

You might instead try Sysinternals' Process Monitor
(http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb896645.aspx)

and/or File Monitor
(http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb896642.aspx)

utilities. All three of the kind of overlap in function, and all three
will show you what process has a handle on a particular file, but these
last two are a little easier to read. You just need to filter the
display down to the location, like your TEMP directory or wherever the
files are appearing.

These htt*.tmp files are generated by Offline Explorer. When it
downloads sites, the partially loaded files are saved as htt*.tmp files
in the Temp folder (specified in the Advanced - Files dialog).

When a file download is complete, it gets moved to the final download
directory with the filename according to its online URL. The htt*.tmp
file is removed. So, while file download goes on, the file is blocked.

Normally you should have the number of htt*.tmp files no more than
number of connections in Offline Explorer (Internet tab of the Ribbon).

Of course, if Offline Explorer or system hangs or crashes, some number
of useless temp files may be left. But Offline Explorer has code to
clean these files on exit automatically.

If it doesn't work for some reason, let me know. Sometimes a serious
system crash may cause certain files have problems because of filesystem
errors. In this case, Windows simply blocks any access to the file and
you cannot rename it, move or delete even if no application uses it.

You will need to run chkdsk utility to verify disk (on next reboot) and
fix filesystem errors.

Hi, i have a Windows XP SP3. 2 days ago, I began to see that my mode
light went on and off, as they were sailing or updating. But he was no
connected

check the connections on the firewall (ESET Smart Security) and notic
that explorer.exe was connected to Rapidshare (IP and port 80), but
was not downloading anything. (I am 100% sure that was not downloadin
anything)

I started to investigate because he had already downloaded 200MB, an
found the files in C:\Windows\Tem

several HTT****. tmp files when opened with Notepad saw many Chines
characters

After a while I finish downloading. It happened to me 2 times. I hav
the JDownloader, but was not working or updating
