Please help me someone. I can't update anymore and everytime I startup my
computer it says ""configuring updates". But I didn't install any. The last
one I did did something to my windows. I can't install games and programs. It
always says that my MSXML4.0 is not correctly installed. Or I have problems
with the side-by-side-configuration when I try to install something. It
totaly crashed up my System. I tried every antivirus programm and antispy
progs. I searched the hole web but I couldn't find anything. Its really bad
and I can't format my drive because I have not enouth space to save my files
and I really don't want to make everything new. My computer is just half a
month old. My System:

CPU: Intel QuadCore 6600 2.400 Mhz
Graphic card: Nvidia Geforce 8800
Ram: 2 GB DDR 2
Mainboard: Asus P5N32-E SLI
Vista Home Premium

Please Help me!!!

Thanks!

For your msxml 4.0 issues

Try these first.

1.Use add or remove program or program and features to remove any programs
that have the name msxml 4.0 in it including msxml 4.0 sp2 or any update
related to it.

2.After removing these download msxml 4.0 installation file which will be
msxml.msi from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

3.Restart your computer.

4.After restart open admin command prompt and type regsvr32 msxml4.dll.If it
succeeds then you are done.

5.If issue still remains uninstall your antivirus and security softwares and
follow step 1 to 5 again.

For your windows updates

Some steps you can try and I am sure it will resolve the issue.

1.From admin command prompt type net stop wuauserv and net stop cryptsvc and
then delete the softwaredistribution and catroot2 folder under c:\windows and
c:\windows\system32 respectively.

2.Look for these files under c:\windows\winsxs
Pending.xml and Pending.grl
Take the ownership of these files and delete them.
Along with this also check if you have these values undre registry

• PendingXmldentifier
• NextQueueEntryIndex
• AdvancedInstallersNeedResolving

in the location HKLM/Components

If present delete them as well.

Restart the computer and try updating again.

If issue still remains try these

1.Install WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe
from
http://download.windowsupdate.com/v7...gent30-x86.exe
save to the desktop, and run from an elevated command prompt, adding
/wuforce to the end of the command

2.Uninstall any antivirus or firewall software.

3.try running sfc scan in the WinRE ( sfc /scannow /offbootdir=C:\
/offwindir=C:\windows )

All the Best!!
