I don't know what happened but for some reason as of late hundreds o
task scheduler processes are kicking off. The process is taskeng.exe.
I went into task scheduler to try and figure out what is causing it an
I couldn't see any scheduled tasks that would be creating all thes
processes nor any that are running yet I have hundreds off them running

WHen I goto action->display all running tasks in task scheduler mmc an
then end all tasks the taskeng processes still do not go away

How does one turn the task scheduler off

Using Vista x64 ultimate with service pack 1

THank

taskeng is the master scheduler that runs the scheduled tasks.
it will no go away.

you need to find out what the processes are and then how to eliminate them.

it is possible you have been infected.

need to run several good scans with different programs.

I can't imagine that anything legitimate would spawn so many instances of
scheduled tasks.

What is the virus/malware status of this machine?
