Hello
I used the excellent "jose barreto's" site to set up a mscs cluster
with ms vm in failover environement with a file server storage (all in
windows 2008 R2 Beta versions).
http://blogs.technet.com/josebda/arc...r-storage.aspx
I used file server because i'am trying an environment for a customer
without having a SAN, but at the end if this architecture works, the
final environement will use a iscsi SAN.
It works fine for manual move or quick migration, but when i simulate
crash (power down, unplugged network cable...) of the active node (owner
of the W2K3 VM ), the VM crashes and restart on the second node or
doesn't restart at all after automatic move on the second node.
It evens works fine when i restarted the active node, save, move, and
restore is ok. Means that i don't reproduce the bug on R2 on failover
from this site :
Is there a solution to failover correctly the VM ?
I think it works correctly on mscs on OS W2K3 and VS 2K5 VM, there is a
generic script witch handle the VM by saving and restoring it on the new
active node, so my solution can be to use a W2K3 mscs with VS 2K5.
