icons come behind undocked gadgets

i have weather gadget on my desktop but when a new file saved to desktop
it is going behind the gadget so it have to move the gadget to use
icons. Why doesn't vista put it to outher space of gadgets ?

You can drag your gadgets to the Desktop, then right-click on and close the
Sidebar. The Sidebar will minimize to an icon in the Notification Tray at
the very lower right. Do not Exit the Sidebar, just close it. The Gadgets
will remain on the Desktop, but the Sidebar itself will be out of the way.
To restore the Sidebar, right-click on its little icon in the Notification
Tray and select Open.

i didn't mean the sidebar i mean whan i save file (ex a jpg file) fro
any program like firefox , the icon the file is getting lost behind th
undocked gadgets. i mean why doesn't it put the icon under the gadge
automatically

Things like windows and gadgets float above the desktop, and when something
is saved to the desktop, the locations of any windows or gadgets is
irrelevant. As things are saved into the nearest left side columns of the
desktop, by default, keep your gadgets to the right.

Vista is not aware of the position of the Gadgets when you place an icon on
the Desktop. The icons are always placed according to the other icons,
usually to the far left and top, wherever there is an empty space. You need
to arrange the gadgets so that they are always separated from the icons.

If you prefer the sidebar to the left and want to always have it visible(on
top of other windows) you can right click on the sidebar and then click
properties, check "sidebar is always on top of other windows" and the apply
and ok and this will eliminate the problem as windows will automatically
adjust the desktop icons to be to the right of the sidebar and it will change
the window size to be to the right of the sidebar as well.
