Icons moving on desktop when monitor is turned on

I set the icons where I want them and when I turn the monitor on again
they are all over the place. I am new to Vista, and so far this is m
only gripe! Can someone help this old lady figure this problem ou
before I throw it out the window!! My husband bought me a new compute
for my hobby, but now he has had back surgery and he can not help

My suggestion is right click the mouse on the desktop and click VIEW then
make sure the " align to grid" is checked. Hope that helps. I don't know if
that even matters but mine is checked and my icons dont play games. TJ
