I'd like to change the layout of the IE7 GUI

IE7 has a different interface than I am used to, and it is
causing me a bit of confusion.

So, I've been trying to find ways to make it look and work more
like IE 6's interface. So far though, the only thing I have been
able to find is how to have the Address Bar appear below the File
Menu Bar. That is a helpful thing and I'm glad that I can do
that, but I'd like to do some more.

I would like to take the "Command Bar" and move it off of the
Tabs Bar. I'd also like to have the Links bar appear just above
the Tabs Bar instead of on top of it.

Can someone point me to some info where I can learn how to do
some re-arranging of the IE7 interface? Is it even possible to
do some of the things I would wish to do?

I've become so used to how things are in Windows XP / IE 6 that I
think I would have a much easier and less frustrating time while
working in Vista if I could get it to look and work in a more
familiar way.

I like the IE7/IE8 interface. I use IE7Pro as well, but only enable certain
things, like the ability to user user javascripts, to make changes to
webpages.

If you really hate the IE7 interface, you could try the Avant browser, which
is a new interface to the IE engine (or at least it was when I tried it
about five years ago).

Thanks. I've been told the same about Maxthon as well. I'll try
both, I think.

What I cannot figure out is why MS puts that command bar on the
same area where the tab bar is, and then doesn't allow you to
move it.

It would be better if that tab bar was not so limited in terms of
space. I would want more room for tabs.

Although he likes Avant and I prefer Maxthon to Avant, what you say is
exactly the right thing. Don't worry about which we prefer, but try
both and find out which *you* prefer.
