I am planning to purchase a new Dell XPS 630 computer with Vista Business
(SP1). I would appreciate information for the following question:

Using my current Dell 8200 computer with windows XP Pro (SP1), how can I
correctly Identify, download, and save the security updates for the new
computer with Vista Business (SP1)? The reason for wanting to do this, it
will allow me to install applicable security updates on the new computer
before connecting to the internet. Thanks for any help, Sam

1. Why aren't you running WinXP SP2 with all post-SP2 updates installed?
Frankly, I'd be more concerned about that.

2. As long as the Windows Firewall is enabled (and it's enabled by default),
it will be perfectly safe to update your new PC online. This should be the
very first thing you do when you get your new Vista SP1 computer!

Many thanks for your reply and information. Good point about SP1, however
that was a typo in my post!! My computer has SP2 and "with all post-SP2
updates installed." Have a good weekend, Sam.
